In the gym. On the erg. Occasionally while out on a run. But in the boat?
This sculler is obviously amped up by the music pumping through his Walkman headphones, but the worry wort in me says “Terrible idea!” Assuming you’re like a huge majority of rowers that have to be aware of other traffic on the water (rowers, kayakers, stand-up paddle boarders, power boats), tuning in to music and tuning out the sounds around you could result in serious problems. How many times have you, your coach, or coxswain had to yell “Scullllerrrrrrr! Weigh enough!” because the oarsman was unaware of traffic behind him.
What do you think? Would you were headphones while rowing?
